Penny Rentals ("we," "us," or "our") operates an online equipment rental platform at pennyrentals.com (and related domains). We respect your privacy and only collect information needed to run rentals safely, process payments, verify identity, and support customers.

Account & contact information
- Name, email address, and phone number when you register or book
- Profile details you choose to save in your dashboard
- Messages you send us through support or admin contact flows
Booking & rental information
- Equipment selected, rental dates, quantities, and pricing
- Contract acceptance, signer name, and signature date
- Booking status, invoices, return notes, and fee assessments
- Pickup coordination details shared after your booking is confirmed
Identity verification
Before renting, you may be required to complete identity verification through Veriff. Veriff processes government ID and selfie data according to their own privacy policy. We receive verification status and reference data needed to approve rentals — not your full ID images unless required for a support or compliance review.
Payment information
Payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store full card numbers on our servers. Stripe provides us with payment status, amounts, and transaction references tied to your booking.
Technical & usage data
- Browser type, device information, and pages visited
- IP address and approximate location for security and fraud prevention
- Authentication session data managed through Supabase Auth
- Error and performance logs used to keep the service reliable
How we use information
We use personal information to:
- Create and manage your account
- Process booking requests, deposits, final payments, extensions, and return fees
- Verify identity and enforce rental contract requirements
- Send transactional emails (booking received, confirmations, payment links, refunds)
- Provide pickup instructions after your booking is approved or deposit is paid
- Prevent fraud, abuse, and double-booking
- Comply with legal, tax, and accounting obligations
- Improve the website and customer support
We do not sell your personal information.
Data retention
We keep account and booking records for as long as needed to fulfill rentals, resolve disputes, meet legal requirements, and maintain financial records. Identity verification results and signed contract metadata are retained in line with rental and compliance needs.
Security
We use industry-standard safeguards including encrypted connections (HTTPS), row-level database access controls, and payment processing through PCI-compliant providers. No method of transmission over the internet is 100% secure, but we work to protect your data proportionate to the risk.
Your choices & rights
You can:
- Update profile details from your dashboard
- Request access to or correction of your personal information by emailing us
- Ask us to delete account data where we are not legally required to retain it
- Opt out of non-essential marketing emails (we primarily send transactional messages today)

Children
Our service is not directed to anyone under 18. You must be at least 18 and legally able to enter a binding contract to rent equipment through Penny Rentals.
